Expo 2030 In Riyadh Will Provide A Futuristic, Eco-Friendly Experience

The Bureau International des Expositions representatives visited the planned site for Expo 2030 in Riyadh. During their trip, they saw the master plan for the venue, which will cover 6 million square meters.

The Riyadh City Royal Commission chairman, Fahd Abdulmohsen Al-Rasheed, told representatives at the King Abdullah Financial District Metro Station about the city’s environmentally friendly and cutting-edge public transportation system. This system is at the heart of the city’s infrastructure plan. The delegation also had a chance to talk about how important it was for Riyadh to make plans for transportation in the future.

Al-Rasheed said that as part of the city’s mobility projects and the Riyadh sustainability strategy, they are putting the metro into the capital’s intracity infrastructure. This will ensure that the metro can access all of Riyadh’s major sites and lodging options. He added that these financial commitments to the city’s infrastructure show that the country’s leaders and all of the executive branches back Riyadh’s bid for the World Expo in 2030.

Members of the BIE boarded line four of the 176-kilometre Riyadh Metro network, which will serve the future Riyadh Expo 2030 site. The Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and the director general of the Saudia Group, Ibrahim Al-Omar, also went to lunch with the guests. During a speech at lunch, Al-Jasser said that the transportation and logistics industry is key to changing the whole country. He also added that they had established the intercity bus service network. This bus service covers 200 cities and governorates, and they have deployed five public transit bus networks in the nation. 

The inspection team also talked with Saudi Public Investment Fund representatives at their KAFD headquarters. To ensure that the World Expo would be the best it could be, they talked about the PIF’s willingness to work with foreign businesses in industries like construction, cultural programming, and event management. The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir met with delegation members and told them that the Kingdom wanted to hold the first World Expo with the goal of going beyond carbon neutrality while having a net overall positive effect. He said that Riyadh Expo 2030 would follow the rules of environmental conservation and support the Saudi Green Initiative and Riyadh’s sustainability policy. After dinner, the delegation went to the Al-Daho historic quarter to wrap up the visit.
