Family Development Foundation celebrates Zayed Humanitarian Day along with members of Emirates Humanitarian City

The Family Development Foundation (FDF) reaffirmed its commitment to promoting humanitarian values by celebrating the Zayed Humanitarian Day with members of the Emirates Humanitarian City, in honour of the founding father, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The occasion reaffirmed FDF’s commitment to upholding the philanthropic and humanitarian legacy he established in the UAE and globally.
The event also witnessed outstanding participation from Palestinian guests, who engaged in a range of educational and recreational activities aimed at promoting the principles of generosity and solidarity. Interactive competitions were featured in the event to encourage community participation and unity among the attendees, resulting in a positive and supportive atmosphere that complemented the special day.
Her Excellency Mariam Mohammed Al-Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation, highlighted how the Zayed Humanitarian Day is an annual occasion to derive inspiration from late Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of giving and tolerance. According to Her Excellency, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan fostered a culture of charity and humanity among Emiratis, establishing the nation as a global leader in humanitarian assistance. The Family Development Foundation puts this approach into action by promoting social cohesion and creating a welcoming environment for all groups, especially those who visit the city. H.E. Al-Rumaithi added that the FDF’s participation in the event alongside guests of the Emirates Humanitarian City is in accordance with its mission to strengthen social responsibility and adhere to the sustainable humanitarian work model established by the late Sheikh Zayed.
Additionally, H.E. Al-Rumaithi explained that FDF’s participation in the Zayed Humanitarian Day reflects the vision and directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, ‘Mother of the Nation,’ Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, which aims to instil humanitarian values and enhance the spirit of social cohesion among community members.
Mubarak Al-Qahtani, official spokesperson for the Emirates Humanitarian City, confirmed that the City values its guests and works to provide a safe and comprehensive environment that meets their humanitarian and social needs. In addition to providing housing and other amenities required to guarantee a stable and respectable life, the City provides comprehensive support through integrated services, such as healthcare, education, and psychological rehabilitation. Al-Qahtani also praised the FDF’s efforts to assist and care for families and their well-being, as well as its excellent treatment of the City’s humanitarian guests by offering them social and psychological support through a range of programs designed to meet their unique needs.
Wafa Al Ali, Acting Director of the Family Development Department at FDF, indicated that the FDF’s participation in the Zayed Humanitarian Day aims to raise awareness among guests and provide individuals with psychological and social support, in line with its commitment to the humanitarian values embraced by the UAE. Al Ali pointed out that one of the most notable events hosted by FDF was the ‘Zayed Humanitarian Library: Zayed’s Legacy,’ which highlighted the principles and values of charity instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. As a result, visitors had an opportunity to learn about the visionary leader’s charitable legacy, and foster a culture of tolerance and solidarity among communities and cultures.
