Flydubai begins Dubai-Bhairahawa flights on November 10, 2024
Carrier’s second destination in Nepal
Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, is launching daily flights from Dubai International Airport to Bhairahawa Airport, also known as Gautam Buddha International Airport (BWA), effective November 10, 2024.
This new route marks Flydubai’s second destination in Nepal, complementing its existing service to Kathmandu.
The daily flights to Bhairahawa will operate from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport (DXB), connecting travellers to this emerging gateway to Nepal. Return flights to Dubai will include a stop in Kathmandu, catering to the increasing demand for travel between the UAE and Nepal.
Flight details for the new Bhairahawa route indicate that Flydubai flights will depart Dubai at 08:15 AM and arrive in Bhairahawa at 2:00 PM. After a brief stop, the aircraft will continue to Kathmandu, departing Bhairahawa at 3:00 PM and arriving in Kathmandu at 3:45 PM. The return journey will depart Kathmandu at 4:45 PM and return to Dubai at 8:10 PM.
Pricing for the new service reflects the growing interest in travel between these regions. Return Business Class fares from Dubai to Bhairahawa will start at AED3,600, while Economy Class Lite fares will begin at AED1,800. Conversely, return Business Class fares from Bhairahawa to Dubai will be priced from NPR145,000, with Economy Class Lite starting at NPR70,000.
Sudhir Sreedharan, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for the UAE, GCC, Africa, and the Indian Subcontinent at Flydubai, noted that Bhairahawa Airport is situated in Siddharthanagar, within the Lumbini Province, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha.
With the new service, Flydubai aims to strengthen its foothold in Nepal, offering travellers reliable and efficient options while allowing them to experience the region’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
Since launching direct flights to Kathmandu in 2009, Flydubai has transported over three million passengers, significantly boosting trade and tourism between Nepal and the UAE.
The airline continues to expand its network, having recently introduced services to Basel, Switzerland, and cities in Pakistan and Iran. It now serves 126 destinations across 55 countries.
