Ford and DB Schenker break ground for parts distribution centre at Dubai Logistics District
41,792-sqm facility to be operational in January 2025
Ford Motor Company and DB Schenker, a leading logistics provider, have jointly broken ground on a Ford Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) at Dubai Logistics District, part of Dubai World Central.
The 41,792-sqm facility is set to commence operations in January 2025 by serving as a consolidated storage and distribution site for Ford in the Middle East region, ensuring better parts availability, optimising inventory management, and enhancing customer service across the Middle East region.
Ravi Ravichandran, newly appointed President of Ford Middle East, and Ako Djaf, Vice President of DB Schenker Middle East and Africa, attended the PDC’s ground-breaking ceremony alongside representatives from Atlantic Warehousing DWC on January 4, 2024.
Regional commitment
Ravichandran said: “Through unlocking efficiencies and streamlining operations, the new PDC will not just ensure Ford Middle East can serve our customers better and more efficiently – it also sets us up to continue doing so following our recent and future growth while demonstrating Ford’s commitment to the UAE and broader region.”
