FREDERIK VESTI KEEPS FORMULA TWO CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE HOPES ALIVE AFTER SPRINT RACE VICTORY

Frederik Vesti triumphed in Formula Two’s Sprint Race on Saturday to keep his title hopes alive as championship leader Théo Pourchaire had to settle for seventh place.

Vesti entered the final race 25 points adrift of Pourchaire in the standings and the Prema Racing’s Danish driver produced an impressive performance when it mattered to pick up maximum points and his sixth victory of the seaon.

With Pourchaire finishing seventh, 15.228 seconds behind Vesti, it means there’s only a 16-point difference between the two title challengers with the championship to be decided on Sunday.

Completing the podium with Vesti were Enzo Fittipaldi and Richard Verschoor who finished second and third respectively.

The final race of the 2023 Formula Two season will take place on Sunday at 1:15pm.
