From First Impressions to Fierce Competition, The 50 Raises the Bar of Reality Television

Colors TV’s latest reality sensation, The 50, an adaptation of the French series Les Cinquante, with the format owned by global content powerhouse Banijay has already moved beyond polite introductions, plunging straight into high-stakes strategy and mind games in its opening weeks.

The 50 is designed as a long-format social experiment, bringing together 50 prominent personalities under one roof, where power constantly shifts, and alliances are never guaranteed, promising viewers drama, intrigue, and unpredictable twists at every turn.

Airing daily on Colors TV across the Middle East, the series has quickly revealed what it thrives on: shifting power equations, silent strategies, and personalities testing their influence in an environment where nothing stays stable for long.

Viewers have been closely watching how the atmosphere changes when familiar faces like Karan Patel and Prince Narula step into conversations, sparking early speculation about who is shaping decisions behind the scenes and who may already be losing ground.

The opening episodes saw a rapid succession of eliminations, starting with Vanshaj Singh, followed by Sumaira Shaikh, Saurabh Ghadge, Archit Kaushik, Dimpal Singh, Jahnavi Killekar and most recently, Firoza Khan.

Speaking about the show, YouTuber and content creator Vanshaj Singh says, “For me personally, this show has been a big opportunity as it marks my television debut and gives me the chance to connect with a much wider audience. The format is all about alliances, strategies, and constantly shifting equations between the players, which makes it both challenging and exciting.”

Throwing light on the show’s format, comedian Sumaira Shaikh said, “In a game like The 50, you realise very quickly that the game has control over you as much as you have control over it. If it ever comes down to lying or bending the truth, I think most contestants would do what it takes to survive — that’s the nature of the format. If I were to win, it would be because I stayed sincere and loyal to the people I chose from the very beginning. For me, that matters more than anything.”

As The 50 moves past its opening phase, the pressure is rising fast. Alliances are forming, cracks are showing, and the days ahead promise bold moves, sharp clashes, and surprise twists that could flip the palace hierarchy.

Tune in to The 50, airing Monday to Sunday at 10:30 PM UAE time and 9:30 PM KSA on Colors TV, and witness the power game unfold night after night.

Presented by Dugasta Properties, The 50 is supported by Enchanteur as the Beauty Partner and Yardley as the Fragrance Partner.
