The General Civil Aviation Authority has launched the second phase of its Flight Operations Centralised Unified System, known as F.O.C.U.S., introducing a live display and monitoring platform that strengthens coordination across the UAE’s aviation network.

The new phase follows the earlier launch of the platform’s dedicated website and forms part of the Authority’s push to build an integrated digital system that simplifies communication between aircraft operators and airports nationwide.

F.O.C.U.S. provides a unified digital environment designed to improve procedural efficiency and support smoother operational integration between the GCAA and UAE airports. By offering a consolidated operational view, the platform enhances coordination and helps improve overall performance across the aviation ecosystem.

The development aligns with the GCAA’s wider digital transformation strategy, which focuses on improving service efficiency, promoting open data, and simplifying regulatory and operational processes. It also supports stronger collaboration between government entities and private-sector stakeholders.

The second phase marks an important milestone in the evolution of F.O.C.U.S., introducing advanced digital tools that enable more effective collaboration and faster decision-making among aviation partners. The system is designed to support real-time monitoring and more streamlined workflows across the country’s airports.

Aqeel Ahmed Al Zarooni, Assistant Director-General for Aviation Safety Affairs at the GCAA, said the platform represents a significant step in strengthening collaborative operational frameworks within the aviation community. He noted that F.O.C.U.S. helps simplify inter-airport operations, improve data flow, and accelerate services provided to aircraft operators.

Al Zarooni added that the second phase has been successfully completed, with further stages planned to introduce additional digital capabilities and deeper integration with partners. These developments, he said, are in line with the GCAA’s vision of building a smart, connected, and future-ready aviation sector.

The first phase of the Flight Operations Centralised Unified System was launched in September, offering a single digital gateway for national and foreign air operators to access operational approvals, essential information, and direct links to key aviation entities across the UAE.
