Geneva Watch Days 2024 is set to strike new time this summer
A celebration of timepieces and tradition
This summer, Geneva will become the epicentre of the fine watchmaking world as it prepares to host the fifth edition of the Geneva Watch Days horological gathering from August 29 to September 2, 2024.
With a unique blend of casual elegance and high artisanry, the event promises to be a highlight for high-end watchmaking enthusiasts, collectors, and industry insiders.
This year’s event will impress with an expanded roster of participants. In addition to the core brands that have consistently made their mark, new arrivals, including Beauregard, Cvstos, Daniel Roth, Edox, Favre Leuba, Fortis, Genus, Lederer, L’Epée, Micromilspec, Ming, and Speake-Marin will join the festivities.
This influx of fresh faces signals an exciting evolution in the watchmaking landscape, blending traditional artisanry with innovative designs.
Veteran supporters
Veteran supporters Breguet, Blancpain, and Glashütte Original will also play a significant role. Each will offer exclusive animations and unique activities in their boutiques, adding a layer of interactive experience to the event. Their participation underscores a collective commitment to celebrating and elevating the art of fine watchmaking.
With these new additions, the number of participating brands has risen to 53, encompassing 36 returning brands alongside the newcomers. This diverse array thoroughly explores the horological world, from historic marques to avant-garde innovators.
Held in partnership with the State and the City of Geneva and with the support of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG), Geneva Watch Days 2024 is open to the public while catering to industry professionals, including retailers and media.
The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, Horopedia, the Ecole d’Horlogerie de Genève, the Watch Library and Geneva Tourism endorse the project.
Launched in 2020 by a consortium of six founding brands—Breitling, Bulgari, De Bethune, Girard-Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie., and MB&F—Geneva Watch Days has rapidly established itself as a critical fixture in the watchmaking calendar.
Its decentralised format, which combines a central pavilion with individual brand showcases across boutiques and hotels, has created an engaging and immersive experience for attendees.
Festive atmosphere
The event’s philosophy is centred around a relaxed, festive atmosphere. It allows visitors to engage with the brands in a setting that encourages open discussion and appreciation of horological artistry.
This approach has resonated with the fine watchmaking community. It fosters an environment where high artisanry is celebrated and accessible, making all attendees feel at ease and ready to engage.
The event’s last edition saw an impressive turnout, attracting over 8,000 visitors, 600 media representatives, and 300 retailers from around the globe.
This year’s event is expected to build on that success. A weekend will be dedicated to a unique programme designed for the public. Attendees can explore various timepieces, engage in discussions, and experience the rich tapestry of horological heritage and innovation.
As Geneva prepares to host this extraordinary gathering, the anticipation for the event’s dynamic atmosphere is palpable.
Fine watch enthusiasts and industry professionals are eager to see how the new participants will contribute and how the established brands will continue to push the boundaries of watchmaking, creating an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation.
With its blend of tradition and innovation and its commitment to a relaxed and engaging experience, the horological gathering of the summer is set to underscore Geneva’s status as a global hub for the art of timekeeping, making all attendees feel comfortable and welcomed.
