GMG, a global well-being and retail conglomerate, has launched Sanadi, a national talent development programme that supports the UAE’s Emiratisation efforts by creating structured career pathways for Emirati professionals. The initiative celebrates and reinforces GMG’s commitment to investing in local talent and contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
Sanadi is part of GMG’s strategy to strengthen its national workforce by providing Emirati talent with a structured, four-stage development journey. The programme builds essential leadership, service, and professional capabilities that prepare participants to grow confidently across GMG’s diverse business units.
The programme builds on GMG’s community of more than 200 Emirati employees and strengthens the company’s focus on career development, retention, and internal mobility.
Mohammad A. Baker, Deputy Chairman and CEO of GMG said, “Sanadi is a strategic investment in building the next generation of national leaders who will shape the UAE’s future economy. As a global company with deep local roots, we see Emirati talent as a powerful driver of innovation, competitiveness, and long-term value creation. This programme strengthens our contribution to the We the UAE 2031 vision by aligning capability development with national priorities, ensuring that our workforce is ready to lead in a rapidly evolving marketplace.”
Razan Akrouk, Chief People & Sustainability Officer, commented, “Sanadi is built around our people, supporting their aspirations, their growth, and their well-being. At GMG, we view talent development as a human journey, creating a workplace where individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. This programme goes beyond technical skills; it nurtures confidence, collaboration, and a sense of purpose, ensuring our people can make a meaningful impact across the organisation and in society. By investing in this holistic development, we don’t just build talent – we drive sustained business excellence.”
The programme introduces a pathway that supports employees from entry-level roles through to leadership positions. The learning journey is structured as per 70-20-10 learning approach which includes a combination of on-the-job training, guided workshops and peer to peer learnings, and formal learning delivered through GMG’s digital platforms and in person through the L&D team. To ensure accessibility, all materials are available in both English and Arabic, with content tailored to meet different learning styles and career stages.
Sanadi’s launch also reflects GMG’s long-term regional ambitions. Following its initial rollout in the UAE, the company plans to expand and tailor the programme to key GCC markets, contributing to wider economic empowerment across the region.
