For Airbus corporate jets
Gogo Business Aviation and Satcom Direct have finalised a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus. The agreement marks the beginning of a partnership to bring advanced, low-latency, high-speed broadband internet to Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) operators.
Under the MoU, Gogo’s cutting-edge Air-to-Ground (ATG), FlightDeck Freedom, and Gogo Galileo satellite connectivity solutions will be integrated into the Airbus ACJ fleet. These technologies are designed to provide seamless, high-speed connectivity for ACJ operators, ensuring that passengers and crew can remain connected no matter where their aircraft is.
The collaboration will include Gogo’s ATG and Gogo Galileo Half Duplex (HDX) and Full Duplex (FDX) terminals as retrofit options across all Airbus ACJ models. ACJ Connect Link customers will also benefit from additional services, including robust cybersecurity, 24/7 customer support, and comprehensive crew training.
The solution will be powered by the Eutelsat OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation, known for delivering enterprise-grade aviation services. With Gogo’s phased array antennas, Airbus ACJ operators will gain rapid access to high-speed cabin connectivity, inflight entertainment, and flight deck services with minimal downtime during installation. These next-generation antennas feature a small form factor and fewer components, enabling quicker and easier integration.
Chadi Saade, President of Airbus Corporate Jets, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. He stated, “We are very pleased to enter this MoU with Gogo, as we aim to offer our Airbus ACJ operators and business leaders the highest-standard connectivity solutions. This collaboration will ensure they are always connected and ready to act, with support from a team of industry experts.”
As part of the agreement, Airbus will work with qualified partners to certify the terminal integration and secure the necessary Supplemental Type Certificates for installing the ATG, HDX, and FDX equipment. Following the final contract, Airbus will lead marketing and sales efforts to ensure ACJ operators can fully utilise these advanced connectivity solutions.
Chris Moore, CEO of Gogo, added: “With the Gogo Galileo solution, Airbus ACJ operators will have global access to low-latency broadband services, providing full connectivity and redundancy. This marks a significant milestone in our connectivity journey, and we’re excited to work with Airbus to elevate its offering to ACJ customers.”
The partnership is set to transform the inflight connectivity experience, enabling operators, passengers, and crew to enjoy uninterrupted applications, including voice, internet, email, video conferencing, gaming, and live streaming, from take-off to landing.
