The Board of Directors of the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) has reviewed the authority’s financial, investment and institutional performance, along with progress on major strategic initiatives, during its fourth meeting of 2026.
The meeting was chaired by Mubarak Rashed Al Mansoori, Chairman of GPSSA’s Board of Directors, and focused on strengthening the UAE’s pension and social security system through technology, government integration and long-term financial sustainability.
The Board reviewed progress in the adoption of Agentic AI and initiatives linked to the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy programme. These efforts are aimed at improving operational efficiency, simplifying procedures and enhancing services for insured Emiratis, pensioners and employers.
Al Mansoori said GPSSA remains focused on turning national priorities into measurable outcomes by strengthening future readiness, expanding integration with government entities and using artificial intelligence to improve service quality.
He added that protecting pension rights, strengthening governance, anticipating future requirements and continuously improving the social security system are essential to maintaining public confidence and supporting the social and financial stability of Emirati families.
The Board also reviewed the latest performance indicators, which showed continued growth in pension and social security coverage.
The number of insured Emiratis registered with GPSSA reached 190,063 in August 2026, representing an increase of 13.6 percent compared with the same month in 2025.
The number of pensioners rose by 10.4 percent to 35,015, while the number of beneficiaries increased by 2 percent year on year to 18,585.
By the end of August 2026, the combined value of pensions, end-of-service benefits and compensation reached approximately AED5.03 billion, up 14.6 percent compared with the corresponding period in 2025.
The figures reflect GPSSA’s expanding role in providing social protection and safeguarding pension rights while supporting the UAE’s long-term social and financial stability.
