Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University launched Micro Master programs in Healthcare Statistics and Project Planning

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University launched Micro Master’s programs in “Information Systems and Healthcare Statistics” and “Project Planning and Analysis” to enhance its pioneering role in developing a sustainable educational system. As a strategic partner of the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the Ministry of Education in the UAE in Credit-Bearing Micro-Credentials (CBMCs) project, which aims to provide learners with accredited Short-Term Learning Units that can be added to the balance of certificate units or academic credit hours.

The launch of Micro Master’s programs comes in alignment with the strategic collaboration in the “Credit-Bearing Micro-Credentials (CBMCs)” project launched by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the Ministry of Education in pursuit of achieving a sustainable educational ecosystem, and providing learners with comprehensive knowledge and skills in a smart integrated and flexible learning system, which contributes to achieving the objectives of “We the UAE 2031” vision that aims to ensure the development of the quality of education in the country. The Micro Master’s programs provide learners with accredited educational courses that enhance the horizons of their professional endeavours and gain academic accreditation to be added to the balance of certificate units or credit hours upon continuing their educational journey, in which the courses taken count at 100% toward completion of the credit hour requirements, which range from 36 to 45 hours for academic programs at the university.

Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), said: “HBMSU adopts a vision based on empowering learners academically and expanding their prospects of success and excellence vocationally. It embodies our commitment to the effective application of the lifelong learning model by employing innovation, technology and smart learning methodologies to bridge the gap between educational materials and market needs. Launching the new programs comes in line with this vision, reflecting our commitment to facilitating access to high-quality education, laying the foundations for a more flexible and comprehensive educational ecosystem, and providing flexible educational approach to enable learners to continue progressing academically and professionally by acquiring new skills to expand their opportunities and increase their contribution to the UAE’s ambitious economic and development strategies.”

The Micro Master in Project Planning and Analytics program prepares learners to plan and manage projects using data and analytics. The program employs a multidisciplinary approach and consists of three courses that provide participants with the fundamental knowledge needed to understand the tools and methods used in data science. It is primarily designed for professionals with experience in management, engineering, IT, strategy, production/operations management, and other related areas.

Similarly, the Micro Master in Healthcare Information and Statistics program is particularly suited for healthcare professionals, although individuals from all backgrounds are welcome to apply. Upon successful completion, the three courses undertaken which are 9 credit hours count 100% towards the completion of the 45 hours credit requirements of the MSC Public health program in the university. The program aims to provide participants with advanced skills in the analysis of healthcare information that can be applied across various healthcare domains.

The Micro Master Program is the latest development in HBMSU’s educational offerings and is part of the flexible learning programs that align with the lifelong learning concept. The initiative also aims to develop a new generation of entrepreneurs by enabling a wider range of professionals to pursue their education while fulfilling their employment duties.
