HITEK MD joins experts at Expo City Dubai to discuss collaboration

Javeria Aijaz, managing director of UAE-based technology services company HITEK part of the Farnek Group, joined industry experts to deliver a presentation about how HITEK’s smart facility management (FM) solutions, have contributed, through collaboration, towards Expo City Dubai’s (ECD) net zero journey.

During the panel discussion which took place today (Tuesday 5 December) at the ECD pavilion, Aijaz underscored the importance of quality data acquisition, analytics and certification, as well as AI and predictive energy consumption, through its digital platform PowerTEK.

Developed in-house by HITEK engineers, PowerTEK, is a comprehensive and data-driven energy performance digital monitoring tool, that supports facility managers through efficient measuring, tracking, monitoring and benchmarking of energy and water consumption as well as waste management. This analysis helps to reduce carbon emissions, which are key to fulfilling any roadmap towards net zero.

“Acquiring quality data is a challenge. ECD facility managers now understand how to use various sources and streamline parameters, which can then leverage data analytics to track and report on sustainability metrics. This enables the ECD to set and meet ambitious goals, reduce waste and minimise carbon emissions,” said Aijaz.

“PowerTEK also supports Terra (ECD sustainability pavilion) when applying for certification such as LEED to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable and healthy building practices including power generation using solar energy.

“AI and data algorithms are also in play to measure and analyse data from field devices to make energy consumption predictions more accurate and efficient, optimising energy consumption and enhancing security. Energy and facility managers can predict equipment performance and conduct maintenance, which reduces downtime and repair costs,” she added.
