Shake Your Plants (SYP), the UAE-based functional drinks start-up, is proud to announce its participation in Shark Tank UAE, where it secured a major investment deal to support its mission of making hydration smarter, healthier and more sustainable.
Filmed in June 2024, the episode captured SYP’s pitch to the Sharks, where they shared their vision to turn simple the water you drink everyday into wellness. With 94% of people not drinking enough water and 92% deficient in at least one essential vitamin or mineral, SYP is addressing a massive gap with plant-based, functional drinks designed to fight fatigue, enhance focus and support overall wellbeing.
What sets SYP apart is its unique approach to use real fruits and superfoods including ‘ugly’ produce to contribute to food waste reduction while maximising nutrition. Every drink is 100% plant-based with no added sugar. On the show, SYP received offers from:
- Elie Khoury: CEO & Chairman, Vivium Holding
- Mona Ataya: Entrepreneur, Founder of Mumzworld, Co-founder of Bayt
- Amira Sajwani: Managing Director at DAMAC, Founder of Prypco, Co-founder & COO at Amali Properties.
SYP accepted a deal from Amira Sajwani: AED 1.2 million in funding and a AED 2 million line of credit in exchange for 20% equity.

Since appearing on the show, SYP has continued to expand its line of ‘better-for-you’ gut health beverages, including:
● Kombucha+ – A premium black tea blend infused with prebiotic fibres, dairy-free probiotics, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory compounds. It’s available in Grapefruit and Pomegranate flavours.
● Water+ – Introduced to the Sharks by Lia and Justine, this hydration enhancing electrolyte drink, available in Blueberry flavour, was launched a few months after the show.
With thousands of loyal consumers, an impressive growth in Q1 2025 and a high monthly returning customer rate, SYP is on track to meet its targets. New product pipeline is in development (with new flavours and new functions) and SYP continues to expand its footprint in the Middle East & in the UK with distribution through Aster Pharmacy and Organic Food and Cafe, Amazon, with Spinneys set to launch soon following SYP’s win in this year’s Incubator Programme.
The company was also recently awarded the Innovation Catalyst Award by the French Business Council (CCI France UAE), sponsored by Masdar, in collaboration with French Tech and under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.
