Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD Group) has signed an agreement with JINGDONG Property, the infrastructure investment and asset management arm of JD.com, Inc., to develop a major logistics facility in KEZAD Area A – Al Ma’mourah.

The new development will span approximately 150,000 square metres of warehousing space, with completion expected in 2028. The facility is designed to provide premium warehousing and integrated logistics solutions for local and international businesses while improving supply chain efficiency and the movement of goods across regional and global markets.

The project will draw on JINGDONG Property’s expertise in high-quality warehousing, intelligent operations and green building practices. It will incorporate smart automated warehousing systems and digital operations technologies, alongside flexible development solutions tailored to customer requirements.

Once operational, the facility is expected to create around 1,000 direct jobs across logistics, distribution and administrative functions. It is also anticipated to support indirect employment across manufacturing, retail, transportation and other related industries.

The construction phase is expected to generate further employment opportunities and contribute to local economic activity.

Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO of KEZAD Group, said the development reflects growing international investor confidence in Abu Dhabi’s economic ecosystem and demonstrates KEZAD’s role in supporting industrial growth.

He said the partnership with JINGDONG Property would strengthen KEZAD’s logistics capabilities and its position as a gateway for regional and international trade, while supporting economic diversification, industrial expansion and sustainable development.

Feng Guo, CEO of JD.com Middle East, described the project as an important step in JINGDONG Property’s expansion strategy in the UAE.

He said KEZAD’s strategic location and infrastructure would enable the facility to provide multimodal logistics solutions designed for fast-moving supply chains, while supporting the UAE’s development as a global trade hub.

JINGDONG Property currently manages more than 300 infrastructure assets worldwide, representing over 28 million square metres of gross floor area and more than US$16 billion in assets under management.

The company focuses on investing in, developing and managing green logistics parks, business parks and data centres. Its clients operate across sectors including e-commerce, third-party logistics, manufacturing, retail and emerging industries.

The KEZAD development also supports the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy and the UAE’s Operation 300Bn, which seek to expand industrial activity and strengthen the contribution of the sector to the national economy.

Through its integrated infrastructure and multimodal connectivity, KEZAD continues to attract foreign direct investment and expand Abu Dhabi’s position as a hub for trade, logistics and supply chain innovation.
