The jiu-jitsu competitions of the Hafeet Sports Challenge will be held on Friday at the Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club, featuring athletes in the under-14, under-16, and under-18 categories representing various clubs and academies. The competitions will follow the open belt system, creating exciting matchups and giving athletes the opportunity to test their skills against diverse opponents.
The Hafeet Sports Challenge is one of the most prominent sporting events in Al Ain, aimed at encouraging community members to embrace sports and adopt healthy lifestyles. The Challenge includes a variety of sports disciplines and activities that attract athletes of all levels, helping to promote a culture of competitive sports and enhance community engagement.
The jiu-jitsu competitions at the Hafeet Sports Challenge are a key highlight of the various Jiu-Jitsu events held during the holy month of Ramadan. They reinforce the importance of staying active while promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and strong values among young athletes.
Abdullah Al Zaabi, Head of the Events and Activities Section at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, emphasised the championship’s role in developing emerging talents and nurturing the next generation of jiu-jitsu athletes.
“The Federation is committed to organising high-level championships to ensure the continuous development of athletes and the refinement of their skills,” he said.
“Youth and teen championships receive significant attention from the Federation, as these categories represent the foundation for the future and the sustainable success of jiu-jitsu in the UAE.”
The championship will be held over a single day under the open belt system. The event will also help athletes prepare for upcoming competitions while allowing clubs and coaches to identify and nurture new talent.
