Lexus unveils the all-new RZ in Brussels

A unique Battery Electric Vehicle
Lexus has unveiled the highly anticipated RZ, its first dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV), in Brussels, Belgium. This marks a significant step in the brand’s ongoing electrification strategy, with the RZ set to roll out across various regions starting in autumn 2025.
Since introducing the RX 400h in 2005, Lexus has consistently led the luxury market in electrification, combining exceptional driving performance with a commitment to environmental responsibility.
By 2030, electrified vehicles, including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and fully electric models, are expected to make up an impressive 52% of Lexus’s lineup. As part of its ambitious goals, Lexus aims to expand the adoption of BEVs, hybrids, and plug-in hybrids further, driving towards a carbon-neutral society.
The company is focused on pushing the boundaries of electrification to improve vehicle performance, revolutionise mobility, and offer innovative services while enhancing the overall ownership experience.
The new RZ features a fully redesigned BEV system that significantly enhances motor output, extends driving range, and reduces charging times, addressing the growing demand for performance and practicality in electric vehicles. The next-generation Steer-by-Wire System is a standout feature of the car, offering an entirely new driving experience. This system replaces the mechanical link between the steering wheel and the wheels with electronic controls, allowing for a more precise and customisable driving experience.
In addition to the Steer-by-Wire System, the RZ features enhanced driving performance thanks to refinements in the platform and the DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system. These upgrades improve the vehicle’s handling and contribute to its driving philosophy, known as “The Natural,” which aims to deliver a smoother, more intuitive, and exhilarating driving experience. The RZ has been meticulously designed to embody the Lexus Driving Signature, ensuring that each drive is dynamic and comfortable.
For those seeking an even more powerful experience, the RZ 550e F SPORT introduces higher-output front and rear motors, achieving a maximum system output of 300 kW. This model promises a more exhilarating and engaging driving experience, further solidifying Lexus’s commitment to performance in the electric vehicle segment.
Another first for Lexus is the introduction of Interactive Manual Drive, which enhances the thrill of shifting by synchronising acceleration and deceleration with immersive sound. This feature offers a sportier, more responsive driving feel, elevating the driving experience to new heights.
The RZ’s exterior design has been carefully crafted with exclusive colour options, aerodynamic wheels, and front and rear spoilers that enhance performance and aesthetics. Inside, the vehicle features exclusive seats and aluminium pedals, contributing to a distinctly sporty ambiance highlighting its performance-focused design.
The RZ’s diverse lineup is designed to cater to many drivers, from those prioritising daily convenience and practicality to those seeking a more dynamic and engaging driving experience. Whether for urban commuting or thrilling drives, the Lexus RZ offers a vehicle that meets the needs of a broad spectrum of electric vehicle enthusiasts. With cutting-edge technology, performance, and luxury, the RZ is poised to play a key role in Lexus’s electrified future.
