Motorola Solutions unveils V200 body camera

To enhance frontline worker safety
Motorola Solutions has launched the V200 body camera to improve safety for frontline workers in retail, healthcare, hospitality, education, and other sectors.
The lightweight, discreet camera features a GoLive Audio safety function. This function provides real-time video and audio streaming to security teams or supervisors during critical incidents, helping workers focus on the situation while receiving immediate support.
The V200 records incidents for documentation and deterrence and allows quick intervention in medical emergencies or crimes. The introduction of body cameras has reduced safety concerns, and many workers feel more secure and supported.
The V200 is part of Motorola’s broad suite of security technologies, enhancing safety across various industries globally.
Jeremiah Nelson, Corporate Vice President of Command Center Software and Evidence Products at Motorola Solutions, said: “Industries like retail, healthcare, hospitality and education are recognising the value of body cameras to improve safety for their workers and those they serve.
“In these environments, feeling safe at work is key. The V200 was purpose-built to give frontline workers peace of mind on the job, offering proactive and immediate assistance when and where they need it.”
According to Motorola’s 2024 retail safety report, more than 25% of workers considered quitting due to safety fears, and many believe cameras help de-escalate dangerous situations.
Motorola Solutions is exhibiting the V200 at Intersec 2025 in Dubai from January 14-16.
Theatro Labs acquisition
Separately, Motorola Solutions is set to acquire Theatro Labs (“Theatro”), a leading provider of AI-powered communication and digital workflow software for frontline workers. Theatro, headquartered in Richardson, Texas, has developed a software-as-a-service platform tailored specifically to improve the productivity and safety of frontline employees.
Theatro’s platform offers a suite of real-time collaboration applications that deliver key information to workers through wearable devices. An AI voice assistant helps users quickly access guidance on customer assistance, inventory checks, pricing information, and team communication. This innovative technology is designed to speed up workflows and enhance employees’ knowledge, enabling them to serve customers more effectively and efficiently.
In response to growing safety concerns among frontline employees, Theatro’s solution also provides discreet ways for workers to alert management and security teams in unsafe situations via the wearable device.
The AI assistant can also guide workers through safety protocols, ensuring a swift and effective response. Additionally, Theatro’s platform integrates with video security systems to identify potential threats, such as theft or other safety risks and proactively notifies employees to ensure a safer working environment.
The acquisition will enable Motorola Solutions to further enhance its offerings to frontline workers, particularly in retail and other customer-facing sectors, where speed, safety, and efficiency are critical.
