DP World is advancing integrated logistics solutions as global supply chains adapt to shifting trade dynamics, with multimodal transport corridors emerging as a key driver of efficiency and resilience.

In a new whitepaper titled “A $60.7 Billion Opportunity: Multimodal Transport and the Future of Global Trade,” the company highlights how combining sea, rail and road networks is transforming the way goods move across regional and international markets.

Rising geopolitical tensions, port congestion and climate-related disruptions are pushing cargo owners to adopt more flexible logistics strategies. As a result, seamless connectivity across multiple transport modes is becoming a major competitive advantage.

Industry forecasts indicate the global multimodal transport market could reach nearly $160 billion by 2032, unlocking a $60.7 billion growth opportunity as businesses seek more agile, transparent and reliable supply chains.

The approach includes coastal and feeder shipping services linking regional ports, alongside rail and road networks that extend cargo movement inland. This enables more efficient, end-to-end logistics across key trade corridors.

DP World said it is already deploying this model across its global operations. Through its marine services division, the company connects more than 200 ports and supports over 23,500 sailings annually. Its shipping solutions arm handles around 6 million TEU, strengthening feeder and coastal connectivity that underpins global trade flows.

These maritime services are increasingly integrated with inland logistics, allowing cargo to move more efficiently beyond ports via rail and road networks.

The company noted that supply chains are shifting away from traditional linear models towards interconnected regional systems, where corridor-based logistics play a central role. Businesses are now prioritising speed, resilience and regionalisation, requiring transport systems that maintain visibility and reliability from origin to destination.

DP World is expanding its multimodal capabilities by strengthening links between ports, marine services and inland transport. This includes improving access to inland markets, enhancing feeder connectivity and enabling better coordination across the full cargo journey.

Ganesh Raj, Global COO of Marine Services at DP World, said integrated trade corridors are becoming essential as supply chain disruptions increase, adding that the company is helping customers maintain efficiency through more flexible and connected cargo movement.
