New NVIDIA Studio Driver Brings Smarter AI Workflows with RTX 5090 and 5080 Cards

The GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs are here, bringing smarter AI-powered tools for creators, streamers, video editors, 3D artists, and more.

Built on the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, these GPUs power generative AI content creation and accelerate creative performance:

  • RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs feature 5th-gen Tensor Cores with FP4 support, doubling AI performance with less VRAM requirements. The RTX 5090 generates FLUX.1 [dev] images in just over 5 seconds vs 15 seconds (FP16) on RTX 4090
  • 4th-gen RT Cores with DLSS 4 provide smoother 3D rendering viewports
  • The GeForce RTX 5080 GPU features two encoders and two decoders to boost video editing workloads and the GeForce RTX 5090 GPU steps it up with three encoders and two decoders, reducing export times by a third compared with the prior generation.

Starting today, the NVIDIA Broadcast app is getting even smarter with two new AI effects in beta—Studio Voice and Virtual Key Light—along with a refreshed UI and key improvements to existing tools.

And the January NVIDIA Studio Driver is now available, bringing support for the GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs, unlocking next-gen performance for video editing, livestreaming, and 3D rendering.

Use the GeForce RTX graphics card product finder to pick up GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 GPUs or a prebuilt system today.
