Nike has unveiled a new sneaker designed specifically for women, combining style and cutting-edge innovation. The Air Max Muse takes inspiration from Nike’s iconic Air technology and computational design, creating a futuristic silhouette that looks as dynamic as it feels. The Air Max Muse aims to offer an entirely new kind of experience for sneaker enthusiasts. Designed with computational tools, the footwear combines size, shape, texture, and Air cushioning to develop a silhouette that redefines comfort and fashion.
According to Can Eldem, Nike’s Footwear Designer, the intention was to surprise women’s sneaker fans with a new application of Air technology that they’ve never encountered before. “Our goal was to create a sleek, beautiful, and bold silhouette while offering the same level of innovation and comfort that the Air Max franchise is known for,” Eldem explains.
The design itself is both striking and unique. Featuring exaggerated proportions, the new silhouette draws attention to the signature Air technology at the heel. A semi-gloss finish wraps around the Air unit, highlighting the shoe’s futuristic appeal, while a heightened arch adds a fashionable touch.

Nike athletes Jordan Chiles and Qinwen Zheng, alongside stylist Veneda Carter, have been spotted wearing the Air Max Muse, showcasing the sneaker’s versatility in style. The shoe boasts a smooth, synthetic leather overlay, allowing for various textures and finishes that encourage self-expression.
The shoe’s upper presents an intriguing mix of surfaces, creating a unique look and feel. Nike’s Materials Design Director, Marya Chan, explains: “We wanted to explore how the finishes of the Air Max Muse could enhance the silhouette while also offering a variety of options to suit different styles and moods.”

The Air Max Muse will be available exclusively at select Nike retail partners from December 11, 2024. It will officially launch globally on the SNKRS app on January 10, 2025. Nike has also confirmed that further colourways and styles will be released throughout 2025 and beyond, ensuring that there will be plenty of options for women who want to express their evolving style.
