Jais MK2 makes debut at World Defence Show 2024
In a significant development signalling technological advancement in military vehicle manufacturing, the EDGE Group’s subsidiary, NIMR, a renowned producer of combat-proven wheeled military vehicles, has officially launched the Jais Mark 2 (MK2).
The unveiling came on the heels of the World Defence Show (WDS) 2024, held from February 4 to 8 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Jais MK2 represents the second generation of NIMR’s armoured vehicle series, including Ajban, Hafeet, and Jais.
This accomplishment underscores NIMR’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that cater to the ever-evolving demands of its customers, solidifying its standing as a market leader.
Significant upgrades
The Jais MK2, a mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle, brings significant upgrades.
The capability to support conventional, modern, and asymmetric combat operations offers enhanced protection for critical systems while improving overall mobility within the same weight class.
Notable features include a modernised electrical system, increased payload capacity, expanded internal crew space, and augmented external storage.
Emphasising ergonomics, the design also reduces thermal signature and ensures Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) compliance, thus enhancing overall operational efficiency.
NIMR commenced deliveries of the armoured Jais MK2 to customers in 2023 after completing rigorous development, testing, and production phases.
