The Opera Gallery is hosting the first solo exhibition in the region of British-American artist Anthony James at their gallery located in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Anthony James is the only living artist to have his works on permanent display on all seven continents, including his most recent exhibition in the Antarctic.
The exhibition ‘Light’ draws on the concept of illusion and challenges the viewers’ perception of reality. Anthony James’ works juxtapose light and darkness and draw the mind away from the obvious and possible, using sculptural forms of LED light, steel and glass to create a sense of multiple dimensions.
Visitors to Opera Gallery, located in Gate Village in DIFC, will be able to contemplate some of James’ most celebrated works, like the 40” Dodecahedron (Solar Black) and the 90” Dali Cube (Solar Black).
‘Light’ recently opened with an exclusive viewing and is running until 21 March 2023.
Anthony James also has two additional works – 60” Icosahedron (Silver Birch Grey) and 50” Triacontahedron (Solar Black) 2020 – on display at the second edition of the DIFC Sculpture Park, which will remain open to public until 30 September 2023.
