Dubai, UAE — April 2026 — The Abu Dhabi Registration Authority, operating under the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development to develop and regulate the business sector, has announced that the value of counterfeit and non-compliant goods seized during inspection campaigns in 2025 exceeded AED1.8 million ($490,129).
In addition, the estimated value of goods linked to consumer complaints that were successfully resolved last year reached approximately AED28 million, as reported by the Emirates News Agency.
These intensified efforts reflect ADRA’s commitment to enforcing laws governing the business sector, thereby enhancing Abu Dhabi’s investment environment. Mohamed Munif Al Mansoori, director-general of ADRA, stated that protecting consumers and trademarks is a key pillar of a business environment that meets stakeholder needs.
He added that an integrated strategy has been developed to strengthen consumer protection, safeguard trademark rights, promote fair competition, and reinforce Abu Dhabi’s position as a preferred destination for businesses and investors.
Throughout the year, ADRA conducted 465 inspection campaigns targeting commercial establishments and retail outlets across the emirate, marking a 16.2 percent increase from 400 campaigns in 2024.
The authority also carried out 16,748 inspection visits in 2025, a sharp rise from 6,665 visits the previous year, and issued 104 violations along with 294 warnings to non-compliant establishments.
Consumer complaints totaled 31,759, of which ADRA resolved 83.5 percent amicably, while also issuing 653 violations and 459 warnings against businesses breaching consumer protection laws.
ADRA continues to perform regular field visits and raise awareness of consumer rights, organizing 15 workshops on trademark protection, 51 meetings with strategic partners, 14 workshops on consumer rights, and distributing 25 awareness bulletins.
