PETRONAS Lubricants International and Goodyear Italia Forge Strategic Partnership

PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI), the global division of PETRONAS responsible for manufacturing and marketing lubricants and functional fluids, has announced a new partnership with Goodyear Italia, a leading tire manufacturer. This collaboration aims to supply high-quality fluids and lubricants to Goodyear’s SuperService dealer network, which boasts over 330 locations across Italy and is renowned for tire maintenance and innovation.
Under this agreement, the SuperService network will enhance its maintenance and oil replacement services by incorporating PLI’s range of lubricants. This move strengthens the network’s multi-service approach, allowing SuperService centers to offer PETRONAS Syntium products for light vehicles, Urania Green for heavy-duty vehicles, and PETRONAS Tutela OM for transmissions and coolants for both light and heavy-duty vehicles. These products exemplify PLI’s commitment to technology and innovation, ensuring optimal performance while reducing environmental impact.
Notably, the PETRONAS Syntium range will be supplied in PLI’s eco-friendly Bag-in-Box (BIB) packaging. Made from 100% recyclable cardboard, the packaging is UN-certified and meets all transport regulations for hazardous goods, underscoring the company’s dedication to sustainability.
In addition to product supply, PLI will provide professional training to SuperService technicians. This includes a foundational course on lubricants to deepen their product knowledge and applications. Technicians will also have the opportunity to visit PLI’s facilities in Villastellone and the Global Research & Technology Center in Santena. These visits aim to educate them on the oil production process and the extensive research and development efforts that go into each product.
The partnership was officially launched during the SuperService Convention organized by Goodyear, held in Sardinia from September 27 to 29. The event served as a platform for discussing the evolving automotive market and future challenges.
“We are delighted to collaborate with such a prestigious partner as Goodyear Tires,” said Ciro Lupo, Business Head for Italy & Africa at PLI. “This partnership allows us to offer our high-quality lubricants through a widespread distribution network across Italy, strengthening our presence in the Italian market and contributing to the industry’s growth and innovation.”
Marco Prosdocimi, Retail Director of Goodyear Tires Italia, added, “We chose PETRONAS Lubricants International as our partner for the SuperService network because they share our multi-service approach and provide high-quality products that enhance the performance of all types of vehicles.”
The partnership between PLI and Goodyear Italia signifies a mutual commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, aiming to elevate performance standards in the automotive industry.
