Peugeot launches 2025 Landtrek pickup
Enhancing automaker’s Middle East position
Peugeot has unveiled the latest version of its Landtrek pickup, further enhancing its presence in international markets, particularly in the Middle East, Africa and South America.
The 2025 model introduces a powerful 200 HP 2.2-litre Multijet Diesel engine designed to improve efficiency, safety, and performance. The new Landtrek continues to build on the success of its predecessor, combining the rugged legacy of Peugeot’s past pick-up trucks, such as the 1938 Peugeot 202, the 1960s 404, and the 1970s 504, with modern technology and design.
Launched in 2020, the Peugeot Landtrek quickly established itself in the competitive one-tonne pick-up segment, which sees around 2.5 million annual global sales. Available in approximately 40 countries, it is particularly popular in regions like Africa, the Middle East, and South America.
The new model caters to various needs, offering multiple engine options and configurations, including cabin, single-cabin, and double-cabin versions, with choices tailored for professional and recreational use.
The updated Peugeot Landtrek design is bold and functional, with an imposing exterior highlighting the brand’s modern identity. The vehicle features a redesigned vertical grille incorporating the latest Peugeot emblem and sleek LED daytime running lights in the shape of the brand’s signature claws.
These provide a distinctive and high-tech lighting signature. Other design elements include a reinforced lower front section with glossy black fog lamp bezels, a newly designed rear bumper, and a modernised cargo door adorned with 3D effect LED rear lights.
All environments
The new Landtrek is 5.33 metres long for the double-cabin version and 5.39 metres long for the single-cabin version, with a width of 1.92 metres, making it well-suited for urban and off-road environments.
Inside, the Peugeot Landtrek boasts a contemporary, tech-focused cabin. The dashboard is dominated by a large 10-inch HD touchscreen, which offers an enhanced user experience with direct access to the infotainment system. The new interface is wireless and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Below the touchscreen, Peugeot’s signature toggle switches provide quick access to key functions, while the 7-inch digital instrument cluster optimises driving pleasure and efficiency. The steering wheel has been redesigned to integrate controls for adaptive cruise control and the new Peugeot emblem.
The cabin is designed for comfort and versatility. The front seats are available in two configurations: two individual seats with a central armrest or a multifunctional three-seater bench. The rear seat in the double cabin version offers unique modularity, allowing for a 60/40 split or a fully folded backrest, enabling the vehicle to carry additional loads. Isofix fixings are also included for secure child seat installation.
Spacious cabin
The cabin is spacious, providing ample shoulder and legroom, and can comfortably seat up to six passengers, depending on the version. With a combined 27 litres of storage space, the cabin ensures that smaller items are easily stowed.
Peugeot also offers an extensive selection of 60 accessories, allowing customers to personalise their vehicles to suit various needs. These include cargo bed protection, chrome roll bars, running boards, and protective mats, with unique versions tailored to meet the specific demands of local markets.
On the performance front, the new Peugeot Landtrek is powered by a 2.2-litre Multijet Diesel engine that produces 200 HP and 450 Nm of torque, ensuring impressive power and reliability. Depending on the market, this engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic gearbox (EAT8).
The new engine is also complemented by a permanent four-wheel-drive system, which provides enhanced safety and efficiency on all terrains. Four driving modes—Normal, Sport, Snow, and Sand—tackle diverse conditions. The new model also features electric power steering and a parking brake for comfort and convenience.
Safety is a key priority in the new Peugeot Landtrek, with standard features including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, and blind spot detection. Other safety enhancements include a 360-degree camera system, making urban and off-road manoeuvring more manageable and safer.
Available with either a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain, the vehicle is equipped with a locker system for better traction in slippery conditions. The 4X4 version is designed to handle the most challenging terrains, offering a wading depth of up to 600 mm and impressive angles of approach, departure, and ground clearance. The vehicle’s robust design ensures it can easily handle demanding work and leisure activities.
The new 2.2-litre Multijet Diesel engine also boosts the vehicle’s payload capacity to an impressive 1,400 kg. In comparison, its towing capacity has increased to 3,500 kg, making it one of the most versatile pickups in its class. Even with other engine options, the towing capacity remains high, at 3,000 kg.
