Rakbank today announced the launch of its Digital Equities proposition, enabling customers to invest in more than 30,000 stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) across global markets directly through the Rakbank app.
The new offering, powered by GTN, provides seamless access to international equity markets, including the US, UK and Europe, with fully digital onboarding and trading built into Rakbank’s existing mobile banking experience. The proposition will continue to expand, with access to UAE equities planned in a future phase, further broadening investment opportunities available to customers through the Rakbank app.
There is no separate brokerage relationship to open, no forms to chase and no barriers to getting started. Customers can open an investment account and begin investing through the same app they already use for their everyday banking needs.
With fees for US equity trades starting from just USD 1 per transaction, Digital Equities makes it easier and more accessible for customers across different segments and investment goals to invest in international markets.
But the bigger story is what sits behind it. Digital Equities is the newest addition to Rakbank’s fast-growing wealth ecosystem, bringing equities, fixed income, investment funds, precious metals, foreign exchange and digital assets together within a single, trusted app.
Whether customers are taking their first step into investing or diversifying a mature portfolio, they can now build, manage and grow their wealth across conventional and alternative asset classes, matched to their goals, pace and ambitions.
The launch expands Rakbank’s wealth offering and enables customers across different segments, levels of experience and investment goals to build their wealth digitally through one app.
Shehzad Hameed, Managing Director, Retail Banking at Rakbank, said:
“We believe investing should be as frictionless as everyday banking. Customers increasingly want the ability to manage their finances and grow their wealth through a trusted, all-in-one platform. With the launch of Digital Equities, we are giving customers seamless access to more than 30,000 global stocks and ETFs directly through the Rakbank app, making it easier than ever to invest in international markets from a platform they already know and trust.
This launch is another important step towards our ambition for the Rakbank app to become a comprehensive destination for banking and wealth management. By bringing multiple asset classes together in one seamless experience, we are helping customers build, manage and diversify their wealth with greater convenience, transparency and confidence.”
Digital Equities is the latest addition to Rakbank’s growing Digital Wealth proposition, which brings together a broad range of investment solutions within a single platform. Through the Rakbank app, customers can already access investment funds, bonds, structured products, precious metals, foreign exchange and digital assets, with UAE equities planned as a future addition.
By integrating investing directly into its digital banking ecosystem, Rakbank is making wealth creation more accessible, convenient and transparent, giving customers greater choice and control over how they build and manage their financial future.
To power the proposition, Rakbank has partnered with GTN, a global investment and trading infrastructure fintech. Through the partnership, GTN provides the brokerage technology, global market connectivity and execution behind Digital Equities, giving Rakbank customers access to international exchanges through the Rakbank app.
Damian Bunce, CEO of GTN Middle East, said: “We are very proud to partner with Rakbank as it rolls out its wealth ecosystem. Rakbank has a strong reputation for innovation, and our combined strengths create a compelling proposition for wealth clients. We have been particularly impressed by the detailed focus on the user experience and as such we have great confidence this will be a successful venture.”
The Digital Equities proposition is now live and available to Rakbank customers across all segments, giving them direct access to global investment opportunities through the same app they use for their everyday banking needs.
