Sharjah announces temporary traffic diversion on key route to Northern Emirates

Sharjah authorities have announced a temporary traffic diversion affecting motorists travelling towards the Northern Emirates, as infrastructure works continue on a major interchange.

In a joint update, Sharjah Police, in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, confirmed the closure of slip roads at Bridge 7. The interchange links Al Dhaid Road (E88) with Emirates Road (E611).

The temporary closure affects the two inner cloverleaf loops used by drivers travelling from Sharjah and Al Dhaid towards Ras Al Khaimah via Emirates Road. Authorities clarified that traffic flow on the main carriageways of Emirates Road and Al Dhaid Road remains unaffected. Direct right-turn slip roads heading towards Dubai and Sharjah city also remain open.

Motorists approaching Bridge 7 from Al Dhaid or central Sharjah who intend to access Emirates Road northbound are advised to use alternative interchanges. Officials cautioned that minor delays may occur during the diversion period and recommended the use of navigation apps to plan suitable detours.

Sharjah Police urged drivers to reduce speed when approaching the work zone, follow temporary traffic signage, and remain alert for maintenance crews operating in the area.

No timeline has yet been announced for the reopening of the affected slip roads. Motorists are advised to monitor official Sharjah Police channels for the latest updates.
