Dubai, UAE — December 2025 — In a significant step toward a unified digital future, the Sharjah Digital Department, in partnership with Sharjah Municipality, has launched a comprehensive enhancement of rental services on the Aqari platform.
According to the Emirates News Agency, this initiative places Aqari at the heart of Sharjah’s real estate sector as a single, integrated digital destination, operating under the broader vision of the Digital Sharjah Platform.
The move represents a decisive shift from fragmented, paper-based procedures to a seamless and sustainable digital model, aligning with the directives of the Sharjah Government and the UAE’s national vision for technological advancement.
By standardising rental processes across all municipalities in the emirate, the project reinforces transparency, simplifies the journey for investors and business owners, and elevates the efficiency of real estate transactions through full digital integration.
Residents and businesses now have access to an expanded suite of services through the platform, including support for all lease contract types, flexible payment options, and personalised user dashboards. By logging in with UAE Pass, customers can instantly access property and contract details.
Furthermore, through direct digital integration with entities such as the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, the entire process of moving in or out of a property has been digitised, ensuring a smooth and available-around-the-clock experience.
This enhanced system marks a qualitative leap in automation. Completing a lease contract is now a streamlined digital journey, from registration to instant issuance. With 95 percent of processes fully automated and minimal manual handling, processing times have been drastically reduced compared to the previous system. Users benefit from faster, more transparent, and cost-efficient services as a result.
Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Sharjah Digital Department and Chairman of the Committee for the Integrated Real Estate Services Platform Project Aqari, stated that the launch reflects Sharjah’s steadfast commitment to government efficiency and to deploying innovative digital solutions that enrich the experiences of individuals, businesses, and the wider community.
“At Sharjah Digital Department, we are dedicated to building advanced infrastructure and delivering sustainable, proactive solutions that empower government partners across the emirate to achieve full digital integration. This enables the delivery of automated services with tangible impact, both now and into the future,” he said.
For his part, Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality, emphasised that digital transformation is a cornerstone of modern service delivery, especially in light of the emirate’s rapid urban and demographic growth.
He highlighted that the strategic partnership with the Sharjah Digital Department has streamlined procedures, delivered effective customer solutions, and maximised the value and benefit of the services provided.
Sheikh Saud added that this launch begins a new chapter in Sharjah’s digital transformation, moving beyond automation toward genuine digital integration, with a measurable positive impact on the emirate’s economy and service ecosystem.
“Transitioning from traditional models to a fully integrated digital environment aligns with our vision of a human-centred digital system that enhances Sharjah’s competitiveness regionally and globally,” he said.
