Sharjah Police has launched a two-day inspection campaign targeting trailers used by local fishermen, reinforcing efforts to improve road safety and promote regular vehicle maintenance.
The initiative is being carried out in cooperation with the Sharjah Fishing Cooperative Society and with the participation of strategic partner Tasjeel – ENOC at the trailer parking area in Al Mamzar. Around 200 trailers belonging to members of the cooperative are expected to undergo inspections during the campaign.
Inspection teams are assessing key safety components, including tyres, braking systems, lighting and trailer securing mechanisms, while also providing fishermen with guidance on the importance of routine inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce the risk of road incidents.
Sharjah Police urged all trailer owners to ensure their trailers are inspected regularly and maintained in accordance with safety standards, highlighting that preventive maintenance plays a vital role in protecting road users and supporting safer transportation across the emirate.
