Dubai, UAE — Sept. 2026 — Global credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings has affirmed the credit rating of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah at “A/A-1,” maintaining a “stable” outlook for the emirate’s economic future.

According to the Emirates News Agency, the US agency said the stable outlook reflects its expectations of continued economic growth, strong fiscal performance, and the Ras Al Khaimah government’s commitment to implementing well-considered fiscal and economic policies that help maintain a strong net asset position.

S&P also projected that the emirate’s fiscal standing would be further strengthened by the robust performance of its diversified revenue streams.

An official spokesperson for the Ras Al Khaimah government said the emirate, guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, continues to achieve sustainable growth and maintain strong economic performance despite various circumstances and challenges.

The spokesperson added that the rating reflects confidence in the emirate’s economic model and serves as motivation to continue its journey of achievements and pursue further sustainable development goals that enhance the emirate’s standing and reputation.

The report highlighted the progress made by the Ras Al Khaimah government in developing its economic institutions and establishing a long-term approach that supports sustained growth and fiscal stability, citing the role of specialized institutions such as the Ras Al Khaimah Statistics Center.

It also pointed to the fiscal and economic resilience the UAE enjoys as a whole, describing it as a key factor in mitigating the impact of regional developments. The report noted that the government’s substantial net assets provide a buffer against potential fiscal pressures, and it expects the emirate’s fiscal position to remain strong, supported by its solid liquid asset base alongside continued revenue growth, which is expected to accelerate between 2028 and 2029.

Ras Al Khaimah is characterized by a diversified economy that has seen notable growth across multiple sectors. Its gross domestic product is spread across a wide range of industries, which strengthens its ability to attract and retain talent and businesses, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to major global corporations.
