Tawazun Council Boosts Global Defence Cooperation at El Alamein Airshow 2026

Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement is strengthening the UAE’s international defence, aviation and space partnerships through its participation in the second edition of El Alamein International Airshow 2026 in Egypt.

The three-day event is taking place at El Alamein International Airport from September 8 to 10, 2026, bringing together governments, defence organisations, aerospace companies and technology providers from around the world.

Tawazun’s official delegation is focusing on emerging industry trends and identifying opportunities that could support the continued development of the UAE defence ecosystem while strengthening the competitiveness of national companies and capabilities.

Working with the UAE Ministry of Defence and as part of the UAE National Pavilion organised by ADNEC Group, Tawazun is supporting Emirati companies seeking greater exposure to international markets.

The unified national platform gives participating companies opportunities to engage with global partners, explore potential cooperation, establish strategic partnerships and gain access to advanced technologies and expertise.

It also supports efforts by UAE defence, aviation and aerospace companies to become more integrated into international markets and global value chains.

Focus on Technology and Strategic Partnerships

During the airshow, Tawazun representatives are holding meetings with specialised international organisations and companies while reviewing some of the latest defence, aviation and space technologies showcased at the exhibition.

The engagements are expected to support knowledge exchange and provide greater insight into evolving industry requirements, technological developments and potential areas for future cooperation.

The wider UAE National Pavilion brings together leading Emirati companies operating across defence, aerospace, maintenance and advanced technologies. The pavilion covers 871 square metres, while the overall airshow features more than 250 exhibitors from 50 countries across approximately 125,000 square metres of exhibition space.

UAE-Egypt Defence Relations in Focus

Matar Ali Al Romaithi, Director-General of the Procurement and Planning Directorate at Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, said the Council’s participation reflects the growing relationship between the UAE and Egypt and the continued expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

He noted that increasing international participation is strengthening El Alamein International Airshow’s position as an important platform for the aerospace and space industries, connecting major industry players with new technologies and solutions.

Al Romaithi added that Tawazun’s presence highlights its wider role in enabling the UAE defence sector, strengthening national capabilities and building relationships with leading international organisations that could support future collaboration.

The UAE’s participation follows its presence at the inaugural edition of the airshow in 2024 and forms part of broader efforts to promote Emirati defence and aerospace capabilities internationally while creating new commercial and strategic partnerships.
