A unique lineup of top tracks has taken TikTok by storm in the MENA region as part of the short-form mobile video platform’s Songs of Summer 2023 initiative, which is ranked by total video creations.
The TikTok community has been grooving to the rhythm of some of the hottest tunes this summer, with the musical 15-year-old hit Gharam by Saudi singer Rabeh Saqer proving to be this year’s ultimate summer anthem across the MENA region.
Users on TikTok created videos using different versions of the song, which has since amassed more than 350,000 video creations across the MENA region.
Other go-to soundtracks for the season feature top songs in terms of video creations by TikTok users in the MENA region.
These range from soulful ballads like Asheq Majnoon by Mahmoud Al Turky to the energetic vibes of Girls Like Me Don’t Cry (Sped Up) by Vietnamese artist Thuy.
Doo Doo Doo (Unplugged) by Jordan-based singer Llunr adds a unique flavour to the summer play mix.
In contrast, the euphoric, carefree summer anthem Endless Summer by Alan Walker & Zak Abel and the catchy yet emotional tune If We Ever Broke Up by Mae Stephens – one of the most viral TikTok tunes this year – is a hit across the MENA region.
