TRENDS Research & Advisory has strengthened its focus on artificial intelligence and knowledge cooperation through an AI workshop and a new Memorandum of Understanding signed during Ai Everything Abu Dhabi at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

The research institution, an affiliate of TRENDS Group, organised the workshop in collaboration with the UAE Public Prosecution as part of its participation in the two-day technology event.

Titled “From Awareness to Readiness: Towards an Empowered AI Generation,” the session was presented by Issa Ali Al-Mannai, an AI researcher at TRENDS. It examined the rapid changes artificial intelligence is bringing to education and the labour market, with particular emphasis on preparing young people to use emerging technologies effectively and responsibly.

Al-Mannai discussed how AI systems operate and highlighted their limitations, stressing that users need to understand how intelligent technologies can influence decisions, behaviour and everyday practices.

The workshop also examined the reliability of AI-generated information. Participants were introduced to cases in which AI systems can produce inaccurate information with a high degree of confidence, underlining the need to verify outputs before using them for important decisions.

Discussions also covered the influence of training data on AI responses, including potential bias and confirmation bias, and the importance of maintaining human oversight when using artificial intelligence tools.

Language and cultural context were another key focus. The workshop explored the performance of AI systems when handling Arabic content and local cultural references, as well as the importance of providing clear context when using images and other forms of information.

The session concluded by emphasising the need to move beyond basic AI awareness and equip young people with practical skills that enable them to apply the technology responsibly across education, employment and other professional fields.

TRENDS signs MoU with Abu Dhabi Agricultural Club

On the sidelines of Ai Everything Abu Dhabi, TRENDS Research & Advisory and the Abu Dhabi Agricultural Club signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at expanding cooperation in research, studies, advisory services and knowledge exchange.

The agreement covers specialised research, surveys and questionnaires, as well as the exchange of researchers and experts between the two organisations.

Both parties will also cooperate on conferences, seminars, workshops, training programmes and other scientific and knowledge-focused activities.

The MoU provides a framework for supporting joint research projects and other initiatives of mutual interest, allowing both organisations to make greater use of their expertise and expand cooperation across relevant fields.

TRENDS is also participating in the exhibition accompanying Ai Everything Abu Dhabi through a dedicated knowledge pavilion showcasing research publications, studies and interactive AI-powered experiences focused on technological and digital transformation.

Its participation highlights the organisation’s growing focus on studying the impact of artificial intelligence and promoting informed discussion around the opportunities and challenges created by emerging technologies, particularly in education, employment, justice and decision-making.
