UAE Announces Eid Al Fitr 2026 Holidays for Public and Private Sectors

The UAE has confirmed the official Eid Al Fitr 2026 holiday dates for employees across federal government entities and the private sector, allowing residents and businesses to prepare for one of the most important holidays in the Islamic calendar.

The announcement was issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Public Sector Holiday Dates

According to authorities, federal government employees will observe the Eid Al Fitr break from Thursday, March 19, until Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Official working hours for government entities will resume on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Private Sector Holiday Dates

For private sector employees, the holiday will run from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Authorities also clarified that if the holy month of Ramadan completes 30 days, the private sector break will be extended to include Sunday, March 22, aligning the holiday period more closely with the public sector schedule.

Planning Ahead for Eid

Eid Al Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and is one of the most significant religious occasions observed across the UAE and the wider Islamic world. The holiday is traditionally celebrated with special prayers, family gatherings, charitable giving, and festive meals.

With the official dates now confirmed, residents can begin planning travel, family visits, and celebrations, while businesses can adjust operations and schedules accordingly.

As always, moon sightings and final confirmations related to the end of Ramadan will be closely monitored, but the announced dates provide clear guidance for both public and private sector employees across the country.
