The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced a temporary and partial closure of the country’s airspace as a precautionary measure in response to evolving regional security developments.
According to the authority, the move was taken to ensure the safety of flights and air crews while safeguarding the country’s airspace and territory. The decision followed a comprehensive assessment of operational and security risks and was coordinated with relevant national and international authorities.
The GCAA emphasised that maintaining airspace safety and protecting the UAE’s sovereignty remain top priorities. Authorities said the situation will continue to be monitored closely, and updates will be provided to the public and relevant stakeholders as new developments emerge.
Passengers have been advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest information regarding flight schedules. Airlines will provide accommodation and necessary assistance to affected travellers in coordination with local authorities.
The authority reiterated that the safety of passengers and aviation personnel remains paramount and confirmed that all required measures are being implemented to uphold the highest aviation safety standards.
Officials also thanked the public for their cooperation and urged residents and travellers to rely only on official sources for updates during the current situation.
