UAE launches public-led initiative to evaluate government services

The UAE has rolled out a new public engagement initiative aimed at involving community members directly in assessing the performance of federal government entities and improving service quality.

The programme, titled Community Participation in Zero Bureaucracy, invites individuals from across society to evaluate government services based on their own experiences. The initiative is designed to strengthen transparency, boost the credibility of performance reviews, and place user feedback at the heart of public service assessment.

Under the scheme, priority will be given to people who have previously interacted with federal services, including residents, business owners, retirees and other service users who can provide practical and informed insights.

Participants will be asked to share feedback on key aspects of service delivery, such as ease of access, clarity of information, responsiveness and overall customer experience.

According to the programme’s guidelines, evaluators must not be employees of the government entity they are assessing and must have genuine experience in completing an official procedure or using a public service. Selected participants will also undergo training to ensure evaluations are conducted fairly, objectively and in line with approved standards.

The initiative forms part of the UAE’s wider efforts to reduce bureaucracy and enhance the efficiency and quality of government services through active community involvement.
