A high-level UAE media delegation will visit Kuwait in early February as part of a cultural and professional exchange celebrating the strong and longstanding ties between the two countries.
The visit follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, with guidance from Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The initiative is organised by the Dubai Press Club.
The programme will feature the UAE–Kuwait Media Celebration, to be attended by Abdulrahman Al Mutairi, Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs. The event highlights the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations and their shared commitment to cooperation across media, culture and creative industries.
The UAE delegation includes more than 100 senior media figures, among them editors, journalists, writers, content creators, artists, producers and influencers. They will join leading Kuwaiti media professionals, writers and opinion leaders, reinforcing mutual respect and shared aspirations for future growth.
Mona Ghanem AlMarri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, said the visit recognises Kuwait’s pioneering role in shaping the Gulf media landscape over the past century. She noted that media cooperation between the two countries predates the formation of the UAE and continues to play a vital role in strengthening bilateral relations based on shared values and a common vision.
During the event, the Dubai Press Club will honour Kuwaiti media professionals who have contributed to strengthening cooperation between the two countries, particularly those who supported the success of the Arab Media Award since its launch in 1999.
The visit will also see the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Dubai Media Incorporated and Kuwait TV to enhance joint media production, exchange expertise and develop high-quality content. In addition, a panel discussion titled “Media and the Voice of Youth: The UAE and Kuwait” will be held, organised by the Dubai Media Youth Council in collaboration with the Kuwaiti Media Youth Council.
Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, said the visit injects fresh momentum into the already strong relationship between Emirati and Kuwaiti media communities. She highlighted the longstanding partnership with Kuwaiti media professionals and their active participation in major regional platforms, including the Arab Media Summit and the Arab Media Award.
Members of the UAE media delegation welcomed the initiative, stressing that strengthening people-to-people and professional ties will help ensure sustained growth and a shared path toward a prosperous future for both nations.
