Dubai: Private schools across the UAE are moving ahead with fully digital enrolment for the upcoming academic year, with admissions now handled entirely through online platforms.
School administrators confirmed that parents can complete the entire process remotely, from submitting applications and student details to scheduling interviews and taking placement tests. Registrations are being processed through official school websites, where dedicated portals guide families through each stage of admission.
For younger children, virtual interviews are conducted, while students applying to higher grades must complete online assessments before admission decisions are made. Schools said the transition has streamlined the process, allowing applications to be handled efficiently without disruption.
Parents of accepted students can also reserve seats through electronic payments, with reservation fees later adjusted against tuition costs. Many schools are additionally offering virtual tours, giving families a closer look at facilities such as sports areas, science labs, art rooms and other campus features.
Kindergarten applicants typically attend remote interviews via platforms like Google Meet or Zoom, while students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 are assessed through structured online tests. Schools noted that these assessments follow strict guidelines, including time limits and mandatory camera and microphone use during testing.
Admissions teams highlighted that the process generally takes place in two stages. The first involves submitting student information and booking appointments, followed by interviews or assessments depending on the grade level. For early years applicants, parents may be present during interviews but are expected not to intervene.
For older students, evaluations include both academic performance and broader personal development criteria to determine readiness for the next stage of learning.
Schools have also introduced direct communication channels on their websites to assist parents and respond to enquiries throughout the process.
Officials emphasised that families must provide accurate and complete information when applying. Schools may request academic records and reports from previous institutions to verify applications. Failure to disclose key details, including special educational needs, could result in delays, rejection, or cancellation of admission.
Authorities reiterated that submitting an application does not guarantee placement, as admissions remain subject to seat availability, successful assessments, and completion of all required documentation and payments.
