In a step aimed at enhancing convenience and financial flexibility for residents, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has announced a new initiative allowing customers to pay government service fees in instalments using their credit cards.
The initiative, launched during the authority’s participation at GITEX Global 2025 under the title “The Authority at Your Service”, underscores the UAE’s commitment to improving access to public services and supporting community well-being.
Supporting the ‘Year of the Community 2025’ vision
The new payment option aligns with the UAE’s Year of the Community 2025 theme, “Hand in Hand,” reflecting the country’s ongoing efforts to simplify government transactions, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve overall quality of life for residents.
Zero-interest instalment plans
Under the first phase of the initiative, residents holding credit cards from 10 participating local banks can now split ICP service fee payments into manageable instalments with zero per cent interest.
The offer applies to transactions of Dh500 or more, with repayment terms ranging from three to 12 months, based on each customer’s preference and the terms agreed upon with their bank.
Customers can activate the instalment plan through their bank’s call centre, online services, or directly via Visa cardholder channels.
Participating banks
The initiative is supported by leading financial institutions, including:
- First Abu Dhabi Bank
- Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank
- Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank
- Emirates Islamic Bank
- Emirates NBD
- Commercial Bank of Dubai
- Sharjah Islamic Bank
- Mashreq Bank
- RAKBANK
- Commercial International Bank
The programme also includes collaboration with Visa, reinforcing the UAE’s drive toward a more flexible, cashless, and customer-friendly digital payment ecosystem.
Promoting accessibility and innovation
By enabling residents to spread payments over time without additional costs, the ICP continues to strengthen the UAE’s position as a leader in smart governance and citizen-centric service delivery ensuring that essential services remain accessible to all segments of society.
