Residents across the UAE woke up to dense fog on Tuesday morning, prompting the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) to issue red and yellow alerts for several parts of the country. The thick fog caused visibility to drop significantly, especially in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, raising concerns over road safety during early commutes.

Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to remain cautious and to strictly follow electronic road signboards displaying updated speed limits. Authorities emphasized that changing limits are introduced to ensure safety during adverse conditions. Videos circulating on social media showed motorists navigating through heavy fog patches in the capital and surrounding areas.

According to NCM, skies will remain partly cloudy throughout the day, with the possibility of convective cloud development in the eastern regions by afternoon. The weather bureau also noted that, despite recent rainfall and a slight dip in temperatures, conditions will turn humid again on Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. This will be particularly noticeable in western areas, where mist or fog could form once more.

Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 42ºC in Abu Dhabi and 40ºC in Dubai. Winds will be light to moderate, moving from southwesterly to northwesterly directions, occasionally picking up to speeds of 40kmph during the day.

Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, offering calmer waters for marine activities.

With shifting weather patterns, NCM continues to urge residents to stay updated on daily forecasts and alerts. Authorities have also reminded the public that road safety remains a priority during foggy mornings, where sudden drops in visibility can increase the risk of accidents.
