An active low-pressure system continues to affect weather conditions across the UAE, bringing heavy rain, cooler temperatures and unstable conditions in several parts of the country.
Heavy rainfall was reported early Tuesday morning in Fujairah, particularly along coastal areas, leading to reduced visibility. Moderate to heavy showers were also recorded in surrounding regions, including Masafi, while parts of Dubai and the East Coast experienced early morning rain.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the unstable weather is expected to continue until Friday, with rain likely to affect Kalba and other eastern areas during the forecast period. The system has also caused a noticeable drop in temperatures nationwide.
The lowest temperature recorded on Tuesday morning was 9.9°C at Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah at 6.30am. Mountainous areas in the emirate are expected to see even colder conditions, with chilly winds felt during the early hours. Residents sensitive to dust have also been advised to take precautions, as dusty conditions have accompanied the weather system.
Strong winds are further contributing to rough sea conditions. Fresh southeasterly winds have reached speeds of up to 45km/h, resulting in rough seas in the Arabian Gulf. Offshore wave heights are expected to reach up to seven feet until around 1pm on Tuesday.
In response, the NCM has issued orange and yellow weather alerts for parts of Fujairah and Khor Fakkan, warning residents of rough sea conditions and urging caution, particularly in coastal areas.
Authorities have advised the public to stay updated with official weather reports and follow safety guidelines as unstable conditions are expected to persist through the week.
