VOX Cinemas, the Middle East’s largest and most innovative cinema exhibitor, proudly hosted the UAE premiere of Darwish at VOX Cinemas, Mall of the Emirates on Wednesday. Held in the presence of cast members Amr Youssef, Dina El Sherbiny and Tara Emad, the star-studded movie premiere and red-carpet event was attended by key media personalities and influencers. Darwish releases at VOX Cinemas across the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Lebanon on 28 August.
Directed by Walid Elhalafawy, written by Wessam Sabry and co-produced by VOX Studios, One to One Productions, Film Clinic and Film Square, Darwish follows the story of a charming con artist (Amr Youssef) and his partner Zobaida (Dina El Sherbiny) who thrive on high-stakes heists. Wrongly accused of murder, he becomes an accidental hero to revolutionaries and is drawn into a dangerous game of espionage and deceit. Amidst the chaos, Darwish crossed paths with Kariman (Tara Emad), a fierce resistance fighter, who sees something redeemable in him. Caught between Zobaida’s manipulations and Kariman’s unwavering belief in his potential, Darwish must navigate love, betrayal, and his web of lies before everything falls apart.
