Zayed National Museum will mark Union Pledge Day on 18 and 19 July with a special edition of its Weekends at Zayed National Museum programme, offering visitors a range of cultural performances, interactive workshops and family-friendly activities celebrating the values of unity and national identity.
The two-day programme is designed to encourage visitors to reflect on the principles of cooperation, collective responsibility and shared purpose that continue to shape the UAE. Through storytelling, creative experiences and live entertainment, the museum aims to highlight the country’s heritage while engaging people of all ages.
Traditional Emirati culture will take centre stage with performances by Heritage Group Performances, featuring al-rawah and other folk arts that showcase the country’s rich cultural traditions and spirit of togetherness. The Abu Dhabi Police Music Band will also perform a series of live musical sets combining ceremonial, patriotic and contemporary pieces.
Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in My Pledge to the Union, an interactive activity where they can write their own personal pledge and contribute to a collaborative artwork reflecting the UAE’s values and future aspirations.
Creative workshops will include Stitching Workshops and a Decorate a Plant Pot activity, both encouraging participants to explore the meaning of Union Pledge Day through hands-on artistic experiences.
The programme will also feature Stories and Tales Across Generations, a storytelling session inspired by Emirati heritage and national pride, offering visitors an opportunity to connect with the nation’s history through traditional narratives.
The special weekend programme reinforces Zayed National Museum’s commitment to preserving the UAE’s cultural heritage while creating engaging experiences that strengthen community connections and celebrate the country’s enduring values.
