Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences

Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, represented by His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the foundation, participated in the ‘Regional Seminar for Shaping the Future of Education in Arab Countries’.

The seminar was organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in cooperation with The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) and several regional and international organizations. The seminar, under the theme ‘Towards Quality, Inclusive, and Equitable Education for All’, took place at the headquarters of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in Tunis.

Commenting on the Foundation’s participation in the ‘Regional Seminar on Shaping the Future of Education in Arab Countries’, His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences said: “We are delighted to participate in the Regional Seminar on Shaping the Future of Education in Arab Countries. We extend our gratitude to ALECSO for organizing this seminar, which offered a platform for participants and education stakeholders from diverse Arab nations to exchange ideas, share visions, and impart experiences and knowledge concerning the advancement and enrichment of the education sector. Throughout the seminar, various educational topics were discussed, encompassing the challenges and opportunities associated with the enhancement of education across different Arab countries. This event provided valuable insights into addressing the complex landscape of education. Additionally, it enabled us to gain insights from member countries regarding their experiences in developing the education sector, the obstacles they encounter, and strategies for overcoming them.”

His Excellency added: “Furthermore, the seminar gave us the opportunity to showcase Hamdan Foundation’s prominent projects, both on a national and international scale. These initiatives received acclaim from the attending experts, signifying the tangible progress achieved in the education sector of the United Arab Emirates, aligned with the visionary leadership’s directives.”

During the seminar, experts highlighted the vital role of education as an essential component of personal and societal development. They discussed key issues, challenges, and opportunities aimed at enhancing and improving the education sector. Notably, experts identified significant disparities among Arab countries, including variations in educational curricula, learning environments, high illiteracy rates in some regions, and differences in technology adoption. To ensure the quality of education, they emphasized the importance of implementing specific policies, focusing on teacher training and skill development, as teachers are central to the educational process. Furthermore, they underscored the value of sharing and disseminating successful experiences from various countries in the field of education.
