In collaboration with RAKTDA and RAK Hospital, Radisson Resort Ras Al Khaimah Marjan Island celebrated the Breast Cancer Awareness Month on the 18th of October 2023.
In a global effort to raise awareness on breast cancer, October has been designated as the Pink Month to educate those concerned about the disease including early identification, signs and symptoms associated.
The event took place at Radisson Resort Ras Al Khaimah Marjan Island where several women attended the gathering. Dr Waleed from RAK Hospital and Dr Maria Rathna from RAK Medical Centre were the speakers for the day. They talked about what is breast cancer, how it can be identified and how it can be treated. They also urged women to do self-check-ups and medical check-ups at least 2 times a month just to be aware. Dr Maria also did an illustration on how women can do a self-checkup at home and gave out free self-screening glove kits to everyone who attended. After the event Dr Maria and one female representative from RAK Hospital were doing free Breast Cancer screening checkups to those who were willing to do so.
Everyone who attended was very happy and grateful for the information that was shared during this event.
