WINNERS OF LEGA SERIE A DIGITAL CONTENT CATEGORIES ANNOUNCED

The recent collaboration between Lega Serie A and Globe Soccer made its mark at the 14th edition of the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards on 19 January at Atlantis, The Palm, with Rafael Leão and AS Roma winning the newly-introduced digital content awards: ‘Serie A Best Digital Content by a Player’ and ‘Serie A Best Digital Content by a Club’.

The two award categories were created to recognise and promote the most innovative digital media contributions by the league’s players and clubs. After two intense rounds of selection, fan votes helped decide the winners, allowing those that directly engage with the digital channels the chance to express their voices and opinions.

Rafael Leão has captivated fans with his lifestyle content on Instagram and YouTube, offering an immersive look into his daily life and interactions with fans. His collaborative work with other content creators and influencers garnered significant fan votes, securing his win in his category.

The professional football club AS Roma collaborated with Socios.com to produce the innovative “Fan in the Box” campaign. It involved videos of six fans, chosen from a pool of over 400, tackling the Giallorossi Escape Room during a football match against Udinese Calcio at Stadio Olimpico. This distinctive campaign earned the favour of fans everywhere, granting the club the number one spot in this category.

Commenting on the announcement,Alfonso De Stefano, Managing Director MENA of Lega Serie A, said: “Our partnership with Globe Soccer and the introduction of our award categories at the 14th edition of Dubai Globe Soccer Awards emphasises our commitment to partnering with like-minded organisations to broaden engagement with younger fans through emerging digital mediums.

With 16 million Calcio fans in the Middle East and North Africa, of which half of them under the age of 25, we know that the best way to appeal to this young and growing audience is through the creative use of digital platforms. Gen Z audiences like to consume content that goes beyond the pitch and speaks the stories behind the clubs and players, and this is what we want to offer them. Congratulations to the winners of the Lega Serie A categories who have shown exceptional talent and dedication. They’ve showcased a remarkable ability to fully utilise digital tools, setting a high standard in the industry.”

Tommaso Bendoni, Founder and CEO of Globe Soccer, said:“It’s a special moment to be able to recognise Lega Serie A’s best digital operators as part of this year’s Dubai Globe Soccer Awards. Italian football has obviously long been close to my heart, so being able to partner with and incorporate Lega Serie A into our annual ceremony represents an important collaboration as both entities move forward in their growth journeys in this region and internationally. Congratulations to both Rafael Leão and AS Roma, and we look forward to further collaborations with Lega Serie A in the future as Globe Soccer expands into Europe.”
