Novotel Dubai Al Barsha, the city’s eye-catching hotel situated on Sheikh Zayed Road, announces the appointment of Lynn Kwon as its Cluster Director of Talent & Culture. Drawing from a decade of experience in Human Resources and Team Management in the Middle East, her role will centre on broadening the team’s diversity and forging opportunities for both career and personal development, ensuring the well-being of heartists, and optimising the team’s performance.
Kwon began her career in Human Resources in the capital city at Hyatt Capital Gate in 2014 as a HR Assistant Manager, where she developed her team management skills before moving to Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel & Villas. In her new role, Kwon took on larger responsibilities and showcased her natural expertise and burning passion for talent management and acquisition. She was responsible for the launch of the ‘Developing Our Leaders’ and ‘Managing the Business’ programmes, geared towards mid-senior level managers. She was appointed HRIS (Human Resources Information System) Update Champion for all Hyatt hotels in the Middle East & Africa, excluding Dubai, in recognition of her deep understanding of Human Resources toolkits and programs.
After six years of experience in the hospitality industry, Kwon explored other sectors to widen her skillset and understanding of talent management and acquisition, data-based HR strategies, and streamlining of internal processes before returning to the hospitality industry by joining Novotel, ibis and Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha’s team.
Commenting on her new role, Kwon said, “Returning to the hospitality sector fills me with both comfort and excitement, as I’m afforded a chance to leverage my expanded skillset with a better understanding of Human Resources Management for the cluster properties. I am committed to immersing myself in the Accor culture, driving our team towards unprecedented heights of excellence, and dedicating myself to both growth and development.”
Fluent in three languages, including English, Chinese, and Korean, and intermediate in Malay, Kwon has the special ability to connect with her cluster’s teams uniquely. This, combined with her expansive knowledge of team management and experience in coordinating and launching training programmes, positions Kwon as a valuable addition to the properties and a pillar for the team’s satisfaction and development.
