Aptera Motors, the pioneering automotive manufacturer based in San Diego, California, has confirmed its participation at the upcoming DRIFTx event in Abu Dhabi, UAE, scheduled for April 25 to 26, 2024.
This marks the first time the company will exhibit its revolutionary Solar Electric Vehicle (SEV) in the Middle East region.

Unlike conventional electric vehicles (EVs), which often face challenges such as limited charging infrastructure and ‘range anxiety,’ Aptera’s SEV offers a game-changing solution.
Paradigm Shift
With its low-drag aerodynamics inspired by nature and a remarkable single-charge range of 1,609km, Aptera’s SEV (Launch Edition) represents a paradigm shift in EV technology.
The vehicle’s integration of solar panels allows for self-charging capability, providing an additional 64km of range per day—this feature, coupled with its impressive range, positions Aptera as a frontrunner in the EV market.
The unique shape allows Aptera to be driven using 30% less energy than other electric and hybrid vehicles today.
With a top speed of 162.5kmph, Aptera’s SEV targets environmentally conscious drivers seeking sustainable alternatives to traditional vehicles. It is scheduled for mass production in 2024 and has a suggested retail price of $35,000.
‘Never Recharge’
Chris Anthony, Aptera’s Co-CEO, highlighted the SEV’s unique proposition: “Since most car owners drive less than 48km a day, such drivers would seldom or never have to recharge their vehicles, making the Aptera the first ever ‘Never Recharge’ EV.”
