Dubai Mall Expansion Project Is Underway

At Cost Of AED1.5 Billion

Emaar Properties has revealed plans for a monumental expansion of Dubai Mall. The expansion, valued at AED1.5 billion, will introduce 240 new luxury retail and dining options to the already bustling complex.

The announcement comes as Dubai Mall had a footfall of 105 million visitors in 2023. The mall continues to be the world’s second-largest shopping mall.

New South China Mall, in Dongguan, China, is the largest mall in the world.

With contractors mobilising on-site, the expansion project aims to enhance the mall’s existing offerings. With the addition of 240 new establishments, including luxury stores and culinary experiences, Dubai Mall is poised to redefine luxury shopping and leisure experiences globally, according to an Emaar Malls statement.

Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties, expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its significance in Dubai’s pursuit of global innovation and cultural prominence.

“The new Dubai Mall expansion is a testament to our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to our guests and customers,” stated Alabbar. ]

“We are grateful for the unwavering support of our partners, retailers, and government authorities as we embark on this ambitious endeavour.”

Dubai Mall, inaugurated in 2008, symbolises luxury and innovation. It houses attractions like the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, Reel Cinema’s expansive cineplex, and KidZania Dubai. The forthcoming expansion underscores Emaar’s commitment to continually elevating Dubai’s status as a prime tourist destination.

Dubai Mall is the epicentre of modern retail and leisure in Dubai. Spanning 1.2 million square meters, the mall has 1,200 retail outlets and more than 200 international dining experiences.

The mall is renowned for its diverse entertainment offerings, including the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, Reel Cinema’s Cineplex, and KidZania Dubai.
